Dentures

A denture or a complete denture as it is frequently called, is an equipment that is inserted in the mouth, replaces natural tooth and offers help for the cheeks and lips.

Most dentures are made of acrylic and can be fabricated two different ways.

• A conventional denture is made after all enamel have been extracted and the tissues (gums) have healed.
• An on the spot denture is fabricated and inserted immediately after the tooth are extracted and the tissues are allowed to heal below the denture.
• An higher denture has acrylic, normally flesh colored, that covers the palate (roof of the mouth).
• A decrease denture is formed like a horseshoe to go away room for the tongue.

The tooth are made of plastic, porcelain or a combination thereof. Dentures can be fabricated to healthy over endodontically handled tooth and a whole denture can be connected to dental implants to allow for a greater impenetrable fit of the appliance. Dentures over a normal course of time will wear and need to be replaced or relined in order to hold the jaw alignment normal. The alignment will slowly trade as the bone and gum ridges recede or cut back due to the extraction of the teeth. Regular dental examinations are still vital for the denture wearer so that the oral tissues can be checked for disorder or change.
